Fennels for digestive problems and baby colics

Fennel is a member of the Ubelliferae family, which is the one of carrots, celery and parsley. Fennel comes historically from Greece and the Mediterranean region and it is mainly used for digestive problems Almost all parts of fennel plant are eaten, either raw or cooked or roasted. The herb has been used traditionally as carminative, digestive, and diuretic. It is used in treating respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders The fennel fruits are used as flavourings in baked goods, meat and fish dishes, ice cream, alcoholic beverages and herb mixtures. Fennel fruit tea and fennel fruit water are very common traditional medicines for flatulence treatment. Chewing fennel fruit after a meal is a common practice in India. This is excellent for adults or breastfeeding mother to help with babies colics. Boil the fennels and drink the water as well as eating the fennel is a great way of helping reducing the colics. It is an antispasmotic (reduces spams and cramps), reduces gas by helping to expel it, and it strengthens the stomach as well as soothes and relieves pain.
Fennels also has been found to reduce menopause symptoms.
Serving ideas: 1. Cooked in water and for breastfeeding mum drink the water and eat the fruit.
2. Add raw fennel to a salad.
3. Cook the fennel in a bit of water just slightly cook and add cheese on top. Put fennel and cheese in the oven for extra taste.
