Loss of taste and smell, with or without COVID-19

Olfactory sensory and gustatory both to function well depends on the nerve receptors, the G protein that are found in our mouth and nose and they are both connected to the brain function through neurological connections.

A healthy person has got more than 10.000 taste buds and about 100 million of receptors for the sense of smell.

  • Both the sense of smell and taste are connected to the nerve brain function and in particular to certain cranial nerves. And both need certain nutrients such as sodium and energy production to make up either the smell or the taste that we need.
  • So, lots of vitamins and minerals from our diet, including some sodium or salt.
  • The main sensory tastes are five: sour, sweet, salt, bitter and umami taste, which taste of meat. Any other taste is usually made of the combination of these five primary ones.
  • If we eat a lot of salty foods though, our taste of salty food will be more developed than any other taste and if we eat more of the sweet food than our sweet taste is more. The good news is that if you avoid too much of the salty foods or sweet food, the taste changes within two weeks, and hence you might be craving less of too much salt or too much sweet, this goes for meat or any of the primary tastes.
  • In a healthy person, any food that does not taste good will be avoided, this is part of our survival mechanism. I wonder if with allergies, many people avoid certain foods after they reacted once with them as part of the survival mechanism. This mechanism is the connection with the neurological part of our brain.
  • Usually with NAET method, that brain connection to a certain allergen is rebooted and hence a healthy food or food group can be reintroduced without the brain giving the signal to attack it through the immune system.
  • New olfactory receptors (neuron receptors) are replaced every month, and they are the only mature neurons receptors that would do this in our body. The smell receptors and neurological pathway are connected also to the tear glands, hence when there is a strong odor usually will lead to crying.
  • Did you know that women often have a higher sense of smell than men, especially during ovulation?
  • Did you know that smoking reduces the sense of smell strongly, and in long term smoking will damage the olfactory receptors permanently?
  • Age also reduces the sense of smell, from 65 years old onwards.
  • Did you know that zinc deficiency can lead also to loss of sense of smell and taste?
  • Head injury can reduce or destroy your sense of smell and taste and certain drugs, Parkinson disease, Alzheimer and anti-histamine, steroids, will all reduce the sense of smell.
  • Did you know that emotions are also connected to the sense of taste? Hence it is possible that when we crave certain foods, might be due to the state we are in. Recognizing that state of emotion can also stop craving and eating certain unhealthy foods.
  • Eating sweet foods evoke emotions of pleasure and bitter ones can cause expression of disgust even in newborn babies. It is because of this link that humans and animal learn to avoid certain foods to avoid having an upset digestive system.

Beetroot nutritional facts and benefits

Did you know that beetroots or beet (beta vulgaris) are in the same family of chard and spinach?

Roots and leaves can be eaten, even though most people do not eat the leaves much and concentrate on their roots only. This root was first cultivated and spread around by ancient Romans.

Did you know that beetroot can also be converted into sugar? Napoleon started to convert it into sugar at his time and today many Countries still converts it into sugar.

The beet green part is rich of calcium, iron, vitamin A, C and high in folic acid, so if you are planning to get pregnant or even if you are not, eat the green of the beet to get the folic acid. They are a good source of fiber, manganese and potassium. The roots are a good source of phosphorus, iron, and vitamin B6. The cooked beet root is higher in sugar, about 100 gr of beet cooked contain about 8 g of sugar. So, if you have diabetes or blood sugar level problems, watch that you do not eat a lot of beet roots.

Beetroots are high in betacyanin, which gives his purple red colour. This nutrient is a powerful cancer fighting agent.

As it is high in fiber, is good to lower cholesterol.

Studies in animal have shown that beetroots can increase the natural antioxidant in our body such as glutathione-S-transferase.

When choosing your beetroot, make sure that it is firm and looks fairly fresh.

Enjoy them by grating them with carrots in a salad, you can do some time of smoothie with water and drink it.

You can also do what my mum used to do when I was a child and I had a constant cough. As at that time there was no NHS, my mum used all the natural remedies from food and herbs to get us children well. No penicillin was used till we were about 14 of age.

I constantly had a cough, which I now know was a combination of being low in iron and energetically I could not express myself well, as at that time, like everywhere in the world, the children were to be seen but not heard!

My mum used beetroot, cut them in half, added some actual cane sugar in it, so it would be sweet, and put it outside the window at night. In the morning, there would be this natural syrup that she would give me. And that usually would calm down my cough for a while. That was due to all the goodness that beetroot had in it.

So grateful that we have changed that belief! At least in the modern society!

However you would like to use the beetroot, enjoy it!

Nutritional advice for mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms

I managed to get a year without catching the virus, and I suppose if you do have children is inevitable that you get it at some point. I truth I wished to catch it over Christmas so that was at a quite time, so just watch what you wish for, you might just get it!

I got it for Christmas day, my son had a blocked nose and one of his friend’s sister got positive to the virus but not his friend, and my son was negative when he did the test. Maybe he did that too early. He had such mild symptoms. I got the typical flu like symptoms fever and bone pain. Then I tried to drink my usual Italian coffee in the morning and the taste was so disgusting that I gave it up. I was quite ill for a week and at the 6th day I though or great, getting better, but my stomach was pretty bad and with my taste being awful, whatever I had was bad and could not eat much. When I looked in the mirror on the 7th day, I looked black and white, and feeling my body, my energy force was gone, I could not feel any flow of energy going through my body. I was trying to do some craniosacral therapy on myself to get things going, but if felt that like an off switch that could not be turned on. I was so worried that I called the 111 to see if that was normal after 7 days. Well, I must have got a normal person on the phone and not much help, apparently, I had to push 9 and then 2, and then 2 again before I could get a nurse or doctor, I suppose for a sick person, or elderly person, that would be a disaster, not quite sure what that was about.

Seeing that the doctor would not have done anything anyway unless I was dying, which I felt I was, but not in their way I suppose, I decided to think as a therapist for myself and thought of what I could do to get that spark back into my body, that flow of energy back, or my body would be in deep trouble soon. I felt that a hot water bottle on my chest my help to ignite something. The warmth of the bottle helped. At night my body went into a trembling shock, and then it calmed down and the vitality came back again, I could start feeling the low of energy slowly coming back. I was still quite weak for another couple of days and I could only eat few things, for some reason I could not eat raw vegetables, but I managed to eat the fruits. I felt I just wanted soup and potatoes, and I forced myself to have some protein. Eggs and meat and fish, I could not digest the lentils, as for my digestive system was too much.

My suggestion for anyone going through mild or moderate symptoms to help get through and what I did:

  • Take a tip of a teaspoon of vitamin C every two hours (from Biocare or Higher Nature powder form), this till all the symptoms go down, then take vitamin C, with meals only
  • Take zinc citrate one a day with food or without (Biocare does a zinc citrate that melts well)
  • Kaly bich, homeopathic remedy, to reduce the mucus,
  • Steam with sea salt or Hymalaya salt with olbas oil to steam up your lungs (I had little cough, but the mucus was quite thick and could be hard to let go, so steam helps).
  • Probiotics form Solgar (advanced multibillion dophilus), this if you get the stomach one, as you need to balance up your intestinal tract.
  • As I have Gilbert’s syndrome, which one of the liver pathway detox slowly, I took glutathione to help and L glutamine to help repair the intestinal tract.
  • Foodwise, lot of vegetables hot soup, you could add ginger to help, you might not taste it, but is ok.
  • Fruits the seasonal ones, I could only eat more pears, rather than other fruits, but you might have other taste for it.
  • You can you chicken soups or vegetable lentils soups, make sure that you mash them or chew them well. Do not add any chilli powder
  • Eat more of gluten free food such as rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes and less cheese and dairy. This gives your digestive system a bit of rest and the body to deal with the virus. I had organic yogurt only.
  • Remember to breathe consciously every now and then, to check that your breathing is good.
  • I also did a lot of spiritual meditation, and with all my awareness I did ask for the healing energy to be within me, this is also something that I do for my client, and this time I was asking for myself healing as well. At night, I felt my entire body adjusting, like in key and lock place, reassembling all my bodies together. This is when I new I was getting better and stronger. It took me few more days to recover and get stronger, even before I could go out and walk a bit, reconnect to nature and earth. It felt I have been on a journey, hopefully stronger and wiser!

Now more than ever people need to be healthy in body, mind and soul. In order to do this, is not just changing your diet, but is changing your mindset. Some of the old habits have been conditioned in us since we were children, now it is time for you to know who you really are and what you want in life!
That can be combined with nutrition, positive mind set and knowing what you want!

This can be done via NLP, craniosacral therapy/healing and nutrition all at once, this year is the time of true changing!

Best Wishes for your chosen path

When I started about 29 years ago in my journey as a therapist, I did know where I was going! All the courses that I did, came to me easily, without much effort. I studied and become and Sport Massage therapist first. Then my Nutritional Degree course was planned by the Universal forces in some way, I got in and I still do not remember how I got to know where interviews for the complementary therapy at University of Westminster were held. Somebody told me. I was going to do the physical complementary course, and instead the Nutritional Therapy course started instead and I got on that course. I loved it, as I grew up in an Italian countryside, the thought of suggesting people to eat healthy so that they would get better would exit me and bring pride as well. After about few years I was encountering a lot of people with allergies and even though avoiding them was the only solution at that time, I was thinking there must be another way. I did a homeopathic course then, and even though it was a great help, I felt it was not enough. Then a client of mine mentioned NAET method to reduce or even eliminate some of the body system over reaction. I looked into it and I thought, that is great, I want to do this. I used NAET method on many people, including babies and children, for the overreaction to food and hay fever and the results were amazing, according to my client’s response and feedback. That was more than 14 years ago. After a while and after I was going through a personal change in my life, I stumbled across craniosacral therapy, who I took my son for about 3 to 4 years to get rid of his traumatic birth and the fact that he constantly had a cold that would end up in a lung infection. Even with the homeopathic remedies and the nutritional vitamin C, which helped a lot, I thought there must be something else that I can do, hence craniosacral therapy came up for him. After about 5 years of thinking I would like to learn this, I decided to go for it. It was an amazing experience, with the ups and downs of it, especially when you start healing yourself, all the emotions and trauma came up. At the exact same time I was put on the healing path. The craniosacral therapy and the healing path came hand in hand, and with that I could not separate the two. Usually for CST therapist it comes after years of practicing or they already have the healing experience or courses that they have done. With me was together. That was and is one of my most transformative time of all my life! I then decided to take a Ptlls for teaching what I knew and I am teaching now what I know to whoever wants to listen. After 5 years of working and combining nutrition, craniosacral/healing and NAET method for over reactions, I stumble upon the Neurolinguistic programming course. Again, this was something that I knew nothing about, till I decided to do a course online about 6 years ago now, and I got excited about it as well. As life was challenging a bit, due to my own transformation, healing and ancestors healing as well, it took me a while to decide to do the face-to-face NLP course. Even though I had been using the positive way of thinking for the past 6 years. This year, in December 2019, before all this happened, I decided to do the course with Toby & Kate company. I loved their energy and hence decided to go for it. I managed to do the face to face one just before the 1st lock down in March 2020. That was again another transformation at the neurological level and deep unconscious level. I now combine in my practice all of my skills. Also, during the lockdown, I decided to have a certificate for the healing part of my sessions, which I use with everything that I do. This with Kyle Gray, so I am now also a Certified Angel Guide, which I am anyway and I am sure I did not need the certificate, it is only for people who wants to know really. Here we are, this is my journey in who I am as a therapist almost 30 years later. Looking back, I can see how fate, got into every single way of my path. This year for some reason, it was a bit harder for a while. Now I need to trust that something is coming for me, as well as others, that will be positive, with the new era and the new changes in this life! let’s embrace the new year, as well as honour this year, even with its darkness, sadness, anger, fear, frustration and insecurity that all brought about, as this might have been things that needed to be address, so that many people who did not care before, they started to care, and many people who were asleep before, started to wake up to making choices for their greatest good, for themselves and others!

Happy Healthy Holidays seasons

Holiday seasons are near and this year there are a lot of changes and a time when we need to be aware of others more than ever. Hope that you are all well in some way or another and that you are ready for a new year of hope, moving forward with awareness that life is unpredictable and we need to do what we want to do in life, to live a fulfilling life! Whatever that might be. Most of all be yourself, connect to your inner heart, and go with the flow of life!

Nutritionally, be aware of what you can do in your power to be healthy, have moderate meat, have a bit more sustainable oily fish or fish in general, plenty of vegetables and fruits and a varied diet.

If you do drink a bit more this year for some reason, be aware of drinking water in between alcohol, so that you do not dehydrate.

  • Eat a healthy fatty meal the next morning, such as eggs, mushrooms, avocadoes and salmon, with spinach; as that will get rid of the hungover, as well as pure water.
  • During the holidays take a good walk outside in fresh air; breathe! Do not wait till the new year to do the walking or running or exercise, do them even during the holidays!
  • Relax more by doing diaphragmatic breathing during the day; breathe by using your belly instead of your upper chest. While you are breathing let go of worries and concerns; Click here to listen and download a short meditation from me.
  • This year, instead of eating till your pants unbutton naturally, or your tracksuit stretches even more, eat just a small meal at the time, and use the leftover for the next day. There are so many recipes for leftover Christmas meals on the internet right now.
  • Use the following food to support your liver and get more nutrients: red cabbage (cooked), kale (slightly cooked), carrots (cooked), squash, pomegranate, orange juices (freshly squeezed), mandarins, fresh nuts, especially walnuts and almonds (no salt), hazelnuts, beetroot (cooked or raw), artichokes. Use turmeric, rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, and all the fresh herbs that you know, include ginger, cinnamon and more fresh herbs and spices, if you can add onions (raw and cooked), garlic (raw and cooked). All the above helps with the immune system.
  • By avoiding anything that you might be allergic too, you reduce the inflammation, which usually might lower your immune system. Stress is part of it.
  • Make sure you have a deep sleep of at least 4 to 5 hours. Use magnesium before bedtime, about 1 hour, or melatonin to support that, or relaxation tapes. Avoid any stimulants, including chocolate after 2pm in the afternoon. Avoid eating too late at night, leave a space of at least 3 hours before your bedtime.

If you are allergic to some foods, and you have not seen me yet, then give NAET a try, as it has changed the life of many adults and children alike, from babies too. Click here to read more about it.

In order to move forward in this time and age, and let go of the shock of this year and fears, one of the best ways, is through craniosacral, combined with the NLP, which is amazing to get you rid of old emotions or trauma that are holding you back or stuck. Most conditional thoughts and beliefs are learned in childhood, and through some of the tools through NLP and CST, we visit the times, without going into the actual emotion or traumatic event. You are going to learn to use your own resources as an adult that you have, to give yourself another way of dealing with the same situation that you went through as a child! This will empower you, to deal with present and future events that would have caused the same old destructive emotions in the past, and to deal with them in a more resourceful positive way. Remember we can never change the past, but we can change the present time in dealing with the same situation in a different empowering way.

This is the unconscious mind, which drives your life, unknown to you, that you are aware of it or not!

NLP is also ideal to have a clear plan or goal towards what you need to do. click here to read more

I know that most people want this year to be over, and it is almost over; just notice what your learnings for this year have been and keep them in mind for next year. Keep moving forward, instead of going back to the past, and see what life will bring you!

Go with the Flow of Life!

Most of all, enjoy your Holiday seasons with your family even more this year, pay attention to your loved ones.

Best wishes and Light healing from me for this year ending and the new year coming 2021!

What are you thankful for this year 2020?

Double rainbow

After 10 years of being blessed with the awareness of what is out there, spiritually and physically and more, I know that the more thankful you are of what you have, the more your frequency raise up and set you on a very positive path. I know also that to raise your frequency, if appropriate for you at this time, you can have a really good laugh, either with a friend, family or children if you have any, or remember a time where you were the happier and connect to that time. You can also click on this link to do the circle of excellence, to re-connect to a time that you were most happy, with joy and peace, so that your frequency goes up.

We are still respecting and send blessing to the people who have passed on this year and the ones that have suffered as a consequence of the virus. If we are all down and depressed, then we might get stuck in this for a long time, if we can, let’s be thankful for what we have in our lives, and what the positive part of this year has brought forward:

I am thankful that I have food on my plate;

I am thankful for myself and my family to be well right now;

I am thankful that even though this has been considered a World war III, our young men have been asked to stay at home, and not killing each other on a field;

I am thankful that I am aware that there is more help, out there from the Universe (God, Source, Lights and more), that most people will ever know;

I am thankful for leaving in London, where we can still connect to nature and be outdoor, as there are so many parks and reservoir open;

Thank you and Happy Thanks Giving, even if you are not celebrating it, or bother about it, this year is good to be thankful.

We are still open for face to face

We are still open for face to face.

My awareness for the past 10 years:

  • As humans we are a combination of our soul/higher self and the physical body, where we can experience life, with the ups and down, with the full range of emotions, from anger to joy and happiness, the freedom of choice, the consequences of our own choices, whatever they may be. Emotional inappropriate FEAR is one of our biggest enemy. Something that we still carry from our ancestors and is in our DNA.
  • The full integration of the soul, with the massive universal knowledge and the conscious intelligence of our human body and brain right now, in this age and time.
  • It is the combination of both the soul and the human body, that makes us special, integrated and working for the highest good of ourselves and others. It is not just the human right, or the soul right, we do not work for one or the other, we work together as “ONE”, when we do that, than we can connect with our hearts and the hearts of our fellow human and souls, without dragging each other down or be taking advantage of one power over another. We will be connected with the infinite source and hence our life on earth will be on a level that has never been before. With our inner peace and our inner knowledge.
  • With this year, like any other years in the past, there will be an imprint of good or bad, what ever it was that you choose to do this year.
  • My awareness is that the imprint, will be passed on for some people and society, from the DNA to the next generation, where they need to deal with that and clear it.
  • We are still carrying the imprint of our grand-parents and parents from the past world wars, and this year from the universal help, they are coming down to help and ask for help to be cleared before their next life.
  • Our soul, for some will have an imprint of the good things that we have learned as human in this life, so that the next one, will be on a higher note and frequency of knowledge and awareness.
  • It will take at least few more generations to deal with the old past, and few more new presidents and prime ministers, and leaders to make the earth a better place to live and be proud of living on it. There are energy and Lights coming from all over the Universe to help us, from alternate reality world and high up, as Masters like Jesus, Mother Mary, Buddha, and all the other beautiful Golden, Silver, rainbow Lights helping, including the Wild Life animal energy, the Fairies, and many more that I am not aware of.
  • They are all helping, which is an amazing and wonderful concept to know. Humans choices will be different now, as we enter a world of justice, integrity and fairness, with an abundance of Love from the infinite source of Beings. November 6th 2020

Being grounded, integrated and anchored to the 5th dimension, will bring your to where we are all going. Dealing with the negative emotions and filling our mind with the positive ones are a way for us humans to get integrated and working together with our soul.

For the once that are ready, and the ones that are not, try to see how it feels to be grounded and to clear the toxic energy of what is going on right now.

Strengthening your immune system – preparing for the winter- Body, mind & soul

How to you strengthen your immune system?

There are general tips for that, and for the ones that needs a bit more special attention, such as avoiding the foods that can increase the inflammation and hence reduce the immune system, needs to avoid the most common foods for them. This is by trial and error.

The health of the mind is also essential to strengthen the immune system and hence, dealing with the anger, fears and worries of everyday life, in this time and age is essential.

Health of the body, how to support it?

Eating healthy food that comes from the earth, such as mixed food:

  • Oats/rice or porridge with animal milk or vegetable milk or water. Add some honey, yogurt and seeds and nuts;
  • Eggs with mushroom, tomatoes;
  • Avocadoes on toast (gluten free or normal) with eggs or without eggs, very nutritious;
  • Lunches/dinners: beans/lentils, meat or fish with green salads, soups, stew with vegetables (if beans and lentils bloat you try to add a tip of teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in the boiling water. This will soften the shell and is more digestible).
  • Give at least 3 hours break between one meal and another, after 3 or 4 hours, for the afternoon snacks have a fruit with the skin on or nuts.
  • If you need every 3 hours as too hungry, then have nuts and fruits. You might need to drink more water in between meals. Drink up to 2 litres of water for an average normal day, if hot outside or you exercise, you might need more.
  • The heating might be on now, so I would add some water on the heater in a bowl or under the heater, as the heat might dry the body a bit more. Especially if the heating is on at night as well.
  • Have one coffee/tea a day or max two and only in the mornings, max after lunch, as this stimulates your stress system and leads to do exactly the same as the stress mode (as described below).
  • Avoid any sugary drinks, or red bulls as that will increase inflammation and stress mode and reduce the immune system.
  • Drink water, possible mineral water to balance your minerals, volvic, Scottish and other mineral water are quite good. Or have more varied seasonal local vegetables to balance your minerals intake.
  • If you start getting ill or have fever, start taking extra supplement to reduce the damage from the immune system fighting any viruses or bacteria. For very high fever that does not go down with ibuprofen or any similar, use the following old remedies. Tap cold water compresses on the forehead, back of the neck and head, inside of the elbow, knees. Or compresses with vinegar, or hand gel with 70% alcohol. It will reduce and control the fever. The optimum fever to fight viruses is about 38 max 39, above that, it is a bit damaging for the body and brain.
  • For colds and other flus, in order to support your immune system take a tip of a teaspoon of vitamin C every two hours (vitamin C is eliminated every two hours, normal food is not enough, bats when they are ill make up to 20.000 g of vitamin C). If you get a loose bowel you can reduce the vitamin C intake. Click here to read more about vitamin C in my other blog.
  • Zinc 15 mg per adults a day for a month, to support the immune system and is an anti-oxidant, same as the vitamin C.
  • Warm vegetables or chicken soups, with red cabbage, asparagus.
  • Eat artichokes or take artichokes supplements after a week to help your digestive system. Milk thistle to support your liver.
  • To support your intestinal tract, which supports the immune system in turns, take a really good probiotics in supplements such as Advanced multi-billion dophilus from Solgar (dairy free), Biocare, viridian or any really goods ones. Bionutri herbs tea and eco-balance. For a month, it needs to have a really good amount of mixed friendly bacteria to help.
  • Spray Vogel has got a sage and echinacea throat spray that helped me every time I had a sore throat, with colloidal silver spray.
  • Freshly squeezed lemon and salt gurgle helps, this will sting a bit. Fresh lemon juices and lemon and honey with a bit of hot water helps.
  • Hot water, freshly squeezes lemon and freshly grated ginger helps a lot. Put turmeric and ginger, garlic and onions (if not allergic) into the soups. Plenty of it.
  • Lavender, aromatic oil to add near the throat, hot compresses to expand the lungs to breathe, hot steams water with Olbas oil to again helps with the lungs and breathing.
  • Use cinnamon stick, xylitol in your food preparation with sweets things.
  • Grated carrots and cooked carrots;
  • Grated beetroots and cooked beetroot, to support your liver and blood.
  • Fresh herbs are anti-microbial such as rosemary, thyme, dill, oregano.
  • Walk, run, cycle, breathe, stretch, meditate, positive thinking and more.
  • Click here for webinar meditation about grounding, clearing and anchoring inner strength and more

Emotional wellbeing and soul connection with craniosacral therapy/NLP and healing

Anger, fears and worries leads to anxiety. Emotional fears lead to the stress mode cascade to be triggered and it can be on all the time. Especially if the fears lead to lack of sleep.

Lack of sleep can stop the repairing of major organs and tissues in the body, that happens during the sleep. Usually at night, for some people who work during the night, might happen during their day sleep. Sleep is essential for the body, mind and soul balance.

When there is an imbalanced system, then problems arise, and chaotic thoughts set it, which set a chaotic surrounding life.

In order to calm and quite the internal mind, body and soul due to fears of the uncertainty of this time and age, it is essential that we go within.

Going within means recognising our own fears and other emotions and dealing with them, or finding a solution to the possible worries that we have.

If we give our mind a few possible solution and flexibility of thoughts, then changes are possible and stress is reduced, as the answer to our problems comes to us.

If the stress mode is off, then we can manage to digest our foods properly, by switching our stress mode to the digestive mode, which is also the one for a calm and relax mode.

This leads to eating healthy, knowing what foods bothers us and what helps us. Exercise more, or being outdoor more to breathe and connect to nature.

Enjoying our lives much more. Focusing on our next step or present step and being more grounded.

The soul well being is also essential, and it can be your own religion or just re-connecting to your soul and heart.

Our heart is considered the 5th brain.

How can we reconnect to our heart and our soul? Here are simple exercises that most people can do:

  • If we take about 5 minutes every day, breathing from our belly, breathing in, our belly goes out, so the diaphragm takes in more air, breathing out, our belly goes in, so it squeezes out the toxic air.
  • You can count from 3 to 6 with each in breath and each outbreath, breathing in through your nose and breathing out through your mouth. You can do this in the open when you are doing your walking meditation or indoor sitting down, so that you do not fall asleep.
  • I would also say, breathing in unconditional love from the universe for yourself, and breathing out unconditional love for somebody else that you love (it can be your family, friends or any loved ones), that 3 times. Then you breathe in unconditional love from the universe for yourself and then for somebody else that you know might need it. About 3 times. All this by connecting to your heart, which has got that universal unconditional love and all the space and possibility that you can ever think of. This will also open your heart to love in general.
  • The third set of breathing can be with breathing in unconditional love for yourself, breathing out unconditional love for the world out there where is most needed. This three times.
  • Start grounding by thinking or visualizing them or just saying that you have roots and golden anchors coming from the sole of your feet and the tailbone (at the end of the spine), going down and connecting to the earth, going towards the higher frequency of the earth. Bringing in from the roots and anchors that nourishment from the earth up to your roots and anchors, up to your legs, up to your body, up to your heart, where from there, will expand up to your head and above. Then think or visualize the beautiful sunshine ray of Light coming down from the sun, coming down through your head down to meet with your heart, and from your heart down to your entire body, brightening up the beautiful sunshine light. Like the leaves of a plant that absorb the light and transforms it into nourishment from above. Pay attention to your feet again and the grounding to the earth and then open your eyes.
  • Another grounding meditation is to walk outside and pay attention to your left foot when you put your left foot ahead and pay attention to your right foot when your right foot is ahead. So you end up walking and saying left, right, left, right, till whatever your are thinking or worry about, is gone and that light from the outside world comes in, to shine your internal world.

Preparing for the winter and strengthening your immune system mindfully

How the intestinal tract can be protected from damage through eating the right food for you, and supporting its healthy state. Microbiome has been studied for the past 20 years and connected to the health of the individual, from birth to adulthood. This is since I started my University degree in Nutritional Therapy 24 years ago.

Each of us have a bacteria diversity that is unique to us, according to our birth and how many antibiotics we took since birth, without substituting the good bacteria. I know that many questions the use of adding only certain bacteria and the fact that we lost so many commensal and friendly bacteria, just by living in an urban area. Anyone living in a countryside, and in rural areas, have more diversity of our friendly bacteria that we do. My opinion as a nutritional therapists is that we do not want to lose even the few ones that we still have, and ingesting the ones that we can have, even via supplementation is better than nothing at all, especially if a baby had a C-section or a traumatic birth with a set of antibiotic. Whatever you have as a child from birth to two years old, set the grounding for the health of the intestinal tract microbiome, and as studies have shown now, even our brain health.

Intestinal barrier

Bacteria in the stomach is about 1,000/ml – duodenum – 10,000/ml – jejunum 100,000/ml – ileum 100,000,000/ml and large intestine up to 1,000,000,000,000/gm

The role of microbiome in the human body are quite few. Few of these are:

  • Production of short chain fatty acid production (SCFA) in the large intestine, which helps to heal the intestinal tract and the health of the gut barrier.
  • Helps with digestion, breaking down fibers and other undigestible food
  • Satiety, it makes you feel full when you are full.
  • Vitamin production;
  • Intestinal tract motility
  • Psychological health;
  • Regulation of intestinal tract inflammation;( barrier function, colonization (which it means immunity and protection)
  • Microbiota-gut-brain communication from brain, through the support of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. Neuromuscular control of peristalsis; flight or flight response as for cortisol production and secretion of mucus.
  • From microbiota to brain: There is vagus nerve activation; Neuropeptides and neurotransmitters such as leptin (for satiety) and serotonin (for feeling good); immune signaling with SigA and barrier integrity signaling  eg. Zonulin, and again with the making of short fatty acids production such as butyrate, acetate, etc.
  • Dysbiosis (which is more of the unfriendly bacteria than the friendly ones) have been connected with depression, cardiac dysfunction, unbalanced cholesterol levels, insulin resistance (insulin does not get into the cells) chronic inflammation and hormones unbalanced.

As for this year, everybody is more aware of keeping healthy. The health of the individual starts from the health of his intestine. Then I would look at the eating pattern at the same time of the intestinal tract health. The mental patterns and the healthy way of seeing life and then the exercise pattern. As an holistic therapist I look at the health of the individual from the physical to the mind and spiritual health.

In babies I look at the health of the birth with what microbiome they have and any possible allergies that they might have if they are breastfed; or what milk they are using.

For family with young children or anyone there are some good ideas to mark a positive thing. Pebbles painting and leaving them in the park to raise the frequency of children and adult alike. You can pick up the pebbles with gloves to connect to other children who made the pebbles. You can write your initial or have lots of rainbow colours or smiley faces, here are some sample from one of my little friends:

And thank you to the veteran who has challenged himself at 99 years old, how amazing that is. Many people see how much money he has raised;

I see someone who was born during the 1st WW, was in the 2nd WW and survived the worse time, the best times, the low time and the highest time of his life, and managed with his determination to survive many diseases and health problems as well keeping his mental state, and even manage to do something amazing before his 100th birthday, he thought about somebody else! Does he need anything at this time, probably nothing as he does not care anymore, he is going when he decide to go in style and he is going to be remembered for ever. He saw the worse of people during the war and he is seeing the best of people in this war against the stinky virus, well done Tom Moore! I am sure you are going to be near the best always and for ever.

In May, I was going to run the mother and baby workshop for craniosacral therapist, and this year has been rescheduled for July 12 and 19th 2020 click here to read more if you are interested in receiving a free treatment during the workshops.

The reason I chose May is that May is the month of Mother Mary and as mother of Master Jesus represent the mother of all for everyone, including healing any mother wound as an adult. In my teenager years I used to walk a mile with some of my friends to go and pray, every evening, to a little statue of mother Mary. We would sit down in this little sanctuary in the open and pray.

Now I could say that I was very spiritual, and that would be a bit of a lie. The reason we girls and boys of 13-15 of age, would walk a mile there and back, was because of talking to guys. That was the only way we could meet and talk at my time. So, 1 mile there, 1 mile back and 1 hour of praying to mother Mary. Well we had to have fun somewhere too.

Andalucía mother Mary

Now Mother Mary has come to one of our sessions with Rose few months before Rose moved back to her country.

The statue was from the Andalucía statue of mother Mary. Mother Mary must have had a very good heart and golden heart. All babies are a bundle of pure unconditional love, and if you have one or your work with babies, you can connect to that infinite love and know what is going on with them, as they tell you their story.
I can only imagine what Master Jesus as a baby must have been. Pure Light and infinite love, I am sure anybody around him would have felt that love and felt the blessing into their life for that.

The flower that I connect to mother Mary is the Rose; mainly because May is the time when Roses grow, and the colour that I would associate with mother Mary is celestial light blue.

Even if you are not religious, you can give some thoughts to mother Mary for this month as she is considered the mother of all mothers and as I mentioned above she represents mother wound healing. I am sure quite a lot of us for some reason or another need that.

I had a dream on the 20th of April that many people were starting to go down to their inner child emotions.

One dream before the following dream, I was somewhere in the sunshine with one of my old friends from Italy and I saw lots of broken walls, there were lots of free spaces. Things were ok, even though my friend was worried, things were going to be ok.

Some were sad and missing their parents, they did not want to show their emotions as they would feel vulnerable and hence in their mind weak. So, they went into their childhood behaviour and avoided even talking to their parents.

Some went into their anger; they were upset and annoyed that they were still working and had not time for themselves. They wanted things to go back to where it was before.

Some were still blaming other human beings from what happens and hence being angry at other human being that were different from them. Just a reminder for everyone that we are all one and as one we can fight anything that comes our way.

Others were hungry and hence eating more than they need to eat, like a child that express their emotions through either eating or not eating, as that is in their control.

Some were still running away and not wanted to stop.”

It felt that the human spirit was a bit down, as humans, we want to be with other humans and want to share things and laugh and play and meet each other in person. It is natural and normal to feel all the above emotions right now. As long as you remember to respect yourself and others in dealing with your own emotions, then it is ok to accept the anger, sadness, fear, pain, jealousy and envy, as long as you also let them go as they do not serve you any longer and as long as you can find the positive of them and then let them go.

With sadness, if you have a close reason for still being sad, do go through that till you can actually say goodbye to the loved ones.

During our sessions in the past 10 years with Rose, some of the Lights told us some real-life metaphors, to help Rose and myself to get through some tough times and motivate Rose in finishing her PhD.
