The spleen and its function. What nutritionally can you do to help it? How Craniosacral would help the spleen?

Structure of the spleen: the spleen is slightly oval in shape. The cellular material consists of lymphocytes and macrophages, which is called the splenic pulp.

Red pulp includes some blood, that is why is read and the white pulp consists of the lymphatic tissue where the lymphocytes and macrophages. Macrophages filter the lymph nodes from debris of dead viruses or bacteria and or dead cell. The macrophages are the defender and cleaner of the blood and lymphatic tissues.

Position of the spleen:

The spleen is surrounded or in contact with the following organs: diaphragm, fundus of the stomach, pancreas and the left kidney. It gets debris from all over the body, including the liver.

Erythrocytes (blood cells) are destroyed in the spleen and the breakdown products, bilirubin and iron, are passed to the liver via the splenic and portal veins.

The spleen makes white blood cells, which are the defender of the body. Leukocytes, platelets and microbes, are phagocytosed (eaten and cleared) in the spleen. Unlike lymph nodes, the spleen has no afferent lymphatics entering it, so it is not exposed to diseases spread by lymph. [read more…]

Testimonials for NAET- Nutritional therapy – Craniosacral successes

Craniosacral therapy, NAET and Nutritional successes

On today news I want to share again some of the successes of the treatments that I do. There are hundreds more, however I can only list the ones that remembered to email me their testimonial and allow it to share it with others on my website. I met a couple of people who reminded me of how they managed to change their lives and got on to live their lives how they wanted to that I am want to share the successes today. Just also a reminder that NAET does not work for the intolerances which are lack of enzymes or low enzymes (hereditary) that do not break down certain protein, such as lactose and dairy in general and wheat and gluten. NAET worked for the immune response to the dairy and gluten and wheat, which is different. The immune response is the response of our defence system to an allergen or a foreign body, which is not recognised as self. This happens when there is a leaky gut (complex food enters the blood stream without being broken down). Leaky gut can happen in case of mucosal irritation due to medications, allergies or intolerances, antibiotics, taken frequently anti-inflammatory tablets or other non-steroidal medication; in case of gastroenteritis, illness, and quite often than one can think of continuous stress.

Craniosacral, nutrition and NAET

I would like to say a big thank you to Maria for the treatment and all advise she has gave me. I have suffered a long term iron deficiency, fatigue, bloating, sleep problems, along site to symptoms of gluten, wheat and lactose intolerance. Maria’s examination confirmed gluten, wheat, barley, sugar intolerance as well as unbalanced thyroid, vitamin D, B and iron. I have received a completed treatment as well as dietary advice and cranio sacral therapy. All these have change my life. All my tests from hospital came clear and I feel so much better. Following Maria’s advice I do not experience any symptoms I’ve had before. I am full of energy and I feel good. Maria has also helped me to regain my emotional balance, connect with my family and my inner self. Maria has treated my 3.5year old son for eggs, fish, chocolate, milk and dust allergy. Since the treatment his eczema cleared up and his skin looks a lot better. Ela.

Craniosacral and nutrition:

Our little girl was 3 weeks old when we contacted Maria. Born by c section, she was quite a grassy baby from birth but had started to become increasingly distressed when trying to pass gas and poop. It was very hard to watch her in so much distress. It didn’t seem normal as she was otherwise a very content and happy baby. We saw an improvement in her temperament within hours of receiving the craniosacral treatment and after 3 sessions she was so much better. She seemed calmer and more in control of her bodily functions. She no longer screamed and twisted her body in agony and her sleep improved too. Maria also helped me to identify foods in my diet that were potentially causing problems and to make adjustments. [read more…]

Beetroot the nutritional value. Craniosacral therapy for the liver and other organs

Beet root the nutritional value:

I saw some beetroot juice in the shop and me being a curious George I wanted to know more about it. What I remember from my childhood, is that my mum used to give me beetroot juice for my then constant cough and it worked for some reason that the old way was passed on from generation to generation without knowing the scientific reason for it. Now in our advanced world we know the benefit of it, and here is what I found out:

Beet belongs to the same family as the chard and spinach. Beet have high amount of sugar and they are delicious eating raw or cooked or pickled. Wild beet came from the North Africa and grew near the seashores. In Europe it was cultivate by the ancient Romans. Beets can be converted into sugar. Beet greens are higher in the nutritional value of the beetroots. They contain more calcium, iron and vitamins A and C. [read more…]

Alzheimer and other brain disorder prevention. What can you do?

Alzheimer prevention what can you do?

Well I know that Alzheimer is pretty much connected to old age, however, what you do during your young live and how you live and eat will lead to either developing Alzheimer or similar diseases if you have the genetic makeup. So again when do you start the prevention? If you are a mother, start from the birth of your children, if you are a young adult without children start from yourself before you have children. It does not take much to change even one little thing at the time.

What is Alzheimer and what symptoms would you have?

There is a spectrum of Alzheimer, from mild to severe cases, which reflects some other brain and neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and dementia. All the above diseases and disorders cannot be cured once their Genotype has been triggered, however, there are now plenty of research and case studies to show that they can be prevented and slowed down if taken on time.

What to look for early prevention of Alzheimer either if it is yourself or your parents:

Family history of dementia, Alzheimer or any autoimmune disorders.

Blood test ApoE4 positive with other blood factors in the related specifically to Alzheimer or dementia. Some of the symptoms below are quickly progressive or new to the person:

  • Sleep deprived. If this is new to the person, especially if older.
  • Stress. Anything can be stressful for some people, even making a phone call. In this cases a change in the emotional response to simple tasks is the key to reduce the stress level. Click here to read about stress related problems and what you can do to reduce it. Babies and children trauma click here to read more
  • Leaky gut caused by either taken recreational drugs, food allergies or intolerance, coeliac or gliadin/gluten gut inflammation in genetically predisposed individual, dairy allergies or other foods, dysbiosis (more of bad bacteria than good bacteria).
  • If the person has been constantly ill and taken plenty of antibiotics lately without supporting and healing the intestinal tract afterwards.
  • IBS and IBD symptoms: pain, constipation and or diarrhoea. Gastroenteritis or any intestinal gut problems at some point in life that was not supported by healing the gut afterwards.
  • Possible candida or frequent yeast infections.
  • Possible Mercury or lead toxicity (even though most lead around has been eliminated, I have been told by a someone who works for the water supplier that there are still some big lead pipes where the water that we drink and cook goes through it. As changing every pipe seems to be a big job, he said!
  • Possible leaky gut mucosa triggered by the above situations and maybe leaky blood brain barrier (BBB), causing inflammation of the brain, by non-essential brain nutrients entering the brain or the immune system attacking the invasive nutrients.
  • Nasal obstruction by allergies or other bacteria, breathing in from the mouth and from the upper chest instead of diaphragm and from the nose.
  • Exposure to environmental toxins, and other drugs, leading to cellular toxicity. Toxic mold exposure, history of meningitis or cancer.
  • As I mentioned above liver and kidney not functioning well for detox, either genetically or because exposure to more toxins that healthy nutritious diet.
  • Unhealthy lifestyle. Even though this also depends on the genetic make of the individual. Some one that has got a liver or kidney that detoxifies slower might needs just few more sugar foods or alcohol and have health problems, than somebody that can drink plenty of alcohol and bad food but have their detox organs working at their optimum state. It does catch up later though with them.
  • Physical trauma to the head or strong emotional trauma.
  • A BMI over 25.
  • Diabetes type II.
  • Hyper or hypoglycaemia and insulin resistance.
  • Lack of exercise.

Macular degeneration and eye health in young and old age. Antioxidant and nutrients to sustain their health and improvement

Lutein, lycopene, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin are types of carotenoids, and anti-oxidants, which help to support the health of the eyes from damage.

Since October for some reason or another my eyesight went down quite a lot, and the reason is my liver, which genetically is a bit slower in detoxifying toxins, including stress toxins. Now I have decided to start taking liver support for the two phases of the liver, 1 and 2, which includes glutathione and essential oils such as omega 3 to support the detox. I have also taken the above supplements for a short time, however, I am going to take the antioxidant above in higher dosage for the next 6 months to see if my eyesight is going to improve or at least stay the same. That is because I have been eating quite a lot of the vegetables and fruits containing them, however it was not enough, and my theory is that the liver was not dealing with the toxins well enough. I have been feeling much better since supporting both liver phases and having a month of no wheat and dairy. I can eat a bit now, however still on the liver detox and therefore more of the typical paleolithic diet.

There are plenty of research showing that the carotenoids above are essential in high amount for the health of the eyes, especially when you start getting older. The studies cannot yet show how these antioxidant work exactly on the eyes, however most studies have shown that the higher percentage is transported via HDL (high density lipoproteins, which are the good cholesterol, and the liver is pretty much involved in this) and some part from the LDL (low density lipoproteins, which if high is the bad cholesterol, however in the right amount it is good to have it as well). Glutathione is also involved in supporting [read more…]

Craniosacral Therapy, changes people’s lives, how?

Why does craniosacral therapy changes people’s life? Well, it frees people for their own restrictions, fears, negative emotions. Balance the physical, mental and energetic field, by supporting people with their own healing. People do need to WANT to change, they do want to move forward and let go of the past. CST frees people from their negative old patterns, only if they want to let the old pattern go. As a therapist, with the therapies that I use, it only works best if the person really wants to change. For people who stuck to the worse and best time and let go of the conflict of letting go of the past, have changed their own lives for the best! It is hard to go through, however it is worth it. Once people find their inner peace, they also find the strength to follow their own path! If you or any of your friends are stuck and they cannot move forward, do suggest CST as it can change their lives. This will only happen if THEY decide to heal themselves!

Craniosacral Therapy for babies/pregnancy and post/natal

I am just reminding mothers and mothers to be how important craniosacral treatments is for babies and for themselves. Even if the birth has been normal, it is still almost essential to have 1 or 2 sessions, in order to see how the baby has dealt with the birth and that everything is well balanced up. During pregnancy babies can get stuck in one position or another and that could cause a block that cannot be seen by normal naked eyes really or felt by anymore who is not trained in listening to their little system. The parents might not be aware of any change or the change is so much that they think is another baby all together. Some of the changes can only be seen later in life, which is still quite worth the money and time for that little baby. If you can, suggest it to a friend or just spread the word, craniosacral is the only physical treatment that a baby can have and as it is gentle but very powerful it is the best gift that you can give to your child, or friends if you do suggest them to try it. For my son and myself has changed our lives in a more positive and better and I can see now, how beneficial it was to stay with it with my son and myself. The benefit of the treatments depends a lot from the knowledge of the therapist and each therapist will attract the babies or adults that they can help with their knowledge.
Best Wishes, what ever you decide! Maria Esposito BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapist and R-Craniosacral therapist

Vitamin D. How much is enough?

Vitamin D, how much is enough?

I love when GPs finally get what prevention is and we agree on things. I have been trying to get them to see that my vitamin D had not been enough and because in my family who live in Italy with plenty of sun, there seem to be a problem converted the vitamin D in the kidney, I had to insist to have my density scan. Now the same doctor kept saying that my vitamin D was in the normal range, which it is, however for me was still low 50 to 76 it went down instead of up. I have been taking vitamin D during the winter, the good one and been in Italy. So I would have thought that should go up and be better. However maybe there is something to do with my liver, which I have a weakness with, if the fat is not broken down properly, or the bile does not work well enough, then it is possible that vitamin D is not absorbed well enough. Hence I have a bit of osteopenia, which of course the doctor will not treat till it becomes bad. As a nutritionist and a therapist I rather do the prevention. So finally I got a doctor that saw that vitamin D can be put up to 170 with a 20.000 iu for 12 weeks (yes I could have taken that by myself, however even as a nutritionist I would have wanted a bit more information regarding my bone state.
